6/7/2023 0 Comments Parallel resistance calculator![]() See the information below the calculator for explanation of the formula. Input value is assumed to be ohms and returns in the same input value. Please remember that RT is with no exception, always smaller than the lowest value resistor in parallel. In the formula given, RT is the total (parallel) resistance of the circuit, R1 is the resistance value of the first resistor, R2 is the resistance value of the second resistor, R3 is the resistance value of the third resistor, and on until the last resistor. There are other formulae for doing the resistance of only 2 resistors but this works with an unlimited number of resistors, including 2. Parallel resistance is NOT the same as averaging. After the last resistance value has been entered, click on the "Calculate Resistance" button for the returned parallel resistance value and the number of resistor values entered. There is no reasonable limitation as to the number of entries as long as you follow each entry by clicking on the "Enter Resistance" button and again on the entry box to allow for the next entry. Please be sure to click on the "Enter Resistance" button after each entry followed by clicking on the resistance entry box to prepare for the next resistor value entry. Begin by entering the resistance values into the resistance input box. I looked around at many images from many cameras, and fell in love with Fujifilm’s colour science. Colour Science – All the years owning a Nikon, I never liked the way it produced greens, and for that reason alone it meant I would shoot raw even in situations where it wasn’t needed (such as family snaps etc), just so I could bypass that colouring.Gone are the days where I was worried about going over ISO1600 as ISO performance is just that good! I have had no hesitation in using any ISO with both the X-T20 and X-T3. ISO Performance – Following on from dynamic range is the all important ISO performance which I’ve already touched on in the low light section. In fact using the DR400 option I’m able to gather even more dynamic range at the cost of being at ISO640, and it is just beautiful to work with. I was and I am pleased with the dynamic range ability of my Fujifilm cameras. Dynamic Range – The great thing with Nikon was the huge amount of dynamic range that these cameras allow you to play with.Usually though, with my F/1.4 and F/1.8 lenses I don’t have to go anywhere near that high an ISO and the camera handles the dark perfectly with no issues. ![]() There’s very little noise even at ISO6400, and even images taken at ISO12800 have been great. I shoot side by side with friends who use full frame, and I’ve never once had any difficulty in competing or had images that I would be ashamed of showing side by side with theirs. I photograph a lot of sunsets and in a lot of dark insides of churches and castles, and the Fujifilm system has never yet let me down. My Nikon cameras had always performed well in low light and I know cameras like the Nikon Z6, because of their larger full frame sensors (and eyeballs) are amazing at low light. Low Light – Let’s get this one out of the way first. ![]() Initially I went for the Fujifilm X-T20 as a taster, and then moved onto arguably the best APS-C camera available, the Fujifilm X-T3. So let’s look at these checkbox’s I had to fill, and see, after two years if they lived up to expectations. I looked at the completion, the Nikon Z6, Canon RP and other cameras, and none of them checked as many boxes as Fujfilm. I had always heard good things about Fujifilm, and they simply checked every box for what I wanted. As a sometime semi-professional photographer (I sell my services and images when needed, or when requested, but recently do a lot of educational work for free, helping other photographers), I needed something that the competition just couldn’t supply me. I wanted to find a system that would serve me well for years to come, cut down on size and weight and produce exceptional results in all conditions, with the ability to give me all the tools I need to get the images I need. Running a large photography group has also meant I’ve accumulated knowledge of many different cameras, their output and so much more over the years through images and hands on experience. I’d also had hands on with many other camera makes and different sensor sizes from micro four-thirds Panasonic cameras through to Nikon, Sony and Canon full frame cameras. I’d been shooting with various Nikon cameras (D40, D3200, D5300, D7100) over the years, alongside shooting film. Around two years ago I decided that it was time for a change. In game 5, Ham decided to play Gabriel for eight minutes (his highest of the series) and held up better compared to when James or Rui Hachimura takes over the 5 when Davis sits. ![]() These mistakes can’t happen again and if the Lakers want to finally close out the series on Friday, here are two other things to look out for: Will we still see the small-ball lineup in this game? It’s also as simple as the Lakers shooting 25.6% from the three-point line compared to the Grizzlies’ 35%, Desmond Bane continuing to torch the Lakers’ defense, and the Lakers once again - for the fifth game in a row - faltering when their small-ball lineups were utilized. That said, Game 5 obviously wasn’t all on Ham. It also didn’t help that Ham didn’t call a single timeout when the Grizzlies went on a 28-2 run that won them the game. It’s not a coincidence that Both Brown and Beasley were part of the lineups that recorded the worst plus-minus (Beasley was a -23 while Brown was a -26) in Game 5. On top of Ham pulling Davis out at the wrong time, another questionable decision is his willingness to keep playing Malik Beasley and Troy Brown Jr., who have been struggling offensively all series. Just look how the game turned around once AD took a breather in the third quarter: After that moment, the Grizzlies - who have thrived in the non-AD minutes all series - instantly scored seven points in three easy baskets that led to a 28-2 run. The most disappointing takeaway from Game 5 was when the first-year head coach decided to substitute AD from the game when the Lakers were within one with 3:52 minutes left in the third quarter. It was LeBron James’ worst game of the series (he even admitted that he played like crap) and arguably the most frustrating coaching performance by Darvin Ham, who made a couple of questionable decisions that cost the game. ![]() Much can be said about how Game 5 was just really a matter of a more desperate Grizzlies team refusing to call their season quits at home, but it’s also fair to say that the Lakers shot themselves in the foot like they have countless times this season.Īfter a horrible offensive performance in Game 4, Anthony Davis bounced back in Game 5 by tallying 31 points and 19 rebounds but he barely received any help. Prepare for a highly suspenseful yet sickeningly violent, non-Hollywood, edge-of-the-seat piece of art.The Lakers failed to close out the Memphis Grizzlies last night and now return back home to Los Angeles with a 3-2 series lead as well as more pressure on their side. ![]() I will not detail any events of the film, to save spoiling the atmosphere, but I will note one thing that people tend to be confused about:- "Why did the family let them into the house in the first place?" The two characters of Peter and Paul are let to walk all over the family because of one flaw in the bourgios psyche - 'The more polite a person is, the better a person they are.' This absurd way of thinking is played on by Peter and Paul and they obviously score, plus 'getting into the house without breaking in' is also one of their 'games'.For those who haven't seen the film, I definitely wouldn't recommend this for a night in with the parents/girlfriend, but I definitely would for people who want to see the difference between death and Tarantino-glam. You don't want to watch it, but at the same time, you feel hypnotised by it. The suspense also lasts right through the film 'til the very end. The incredibly long camera shots leave you that bored, that you think "Something bad is going to happen soon, I can tell.". I thought the scenes were too long and dragged out, yet at the same time, I felt a strange feeling of suspense. I watched Funny Games without the slightest clue what the film was about, so I just had to sit back and take it as it comes. This is not how violence is in the real world, violence is a horrible fact of life, not a glamourous thing for youths to copy, and I think Haneke intended Funny Games to show it how it really is. He hates the way violence and death are shown as being 'cool' - Cool gangsters executing their enemies whilst saying cool lines (And you will know, that my name is the Lord! etc, etc)with a cool song playing in the background. First things first, Michael Haneke HATES Quentin Tarantino's films. 6/7/2023 0 Comments Corner reflector![]() The commonly seen corner reflectors are dihedral and trihedral. In general, the corner reflector consists of mutually intersected perpendicular plates. Therefore, the corner reflector is a useful device for radar system calibration. This effect was put to use on the ADM-20 Quail, a small missile which had the same radar cross section as a B-52.The corner reflector is a passive device used to directly reflect radio waves back toward the emission source. Similarly, in radar interpretation, an object that has multiple reflections from smooth surfaces produces a radar return of greater magnitude than might be expected from the physical size of the object. Tower blocks with balconies are often accidental corner reflectors for sound and return a distinctive echo to an observer making a sharp noise, such as a hand clap, nearby. Thin plastic with microscopic corner reflector structures can be used as tape, on signs, or sewn or molded onto clothing.Ĭorner reflectors can also occur accidentally. Reflective paint for visibility at night usually contains retroreflective spherical beads. The three largest were placed by NASA as part of the Apollo program, and the Soviet Union built two smaller ones into the Lunokhod rovers.Īutomobile and bicycle tail lights are molded with arrays of small corner reflectors, with different sections oriented for viewing from different angles. In surveying, retroreflector prisms are commonly used as targets for long-range electronic distance measurement using a total station.įive arrays of optical corner reflectors have been placed on the Moon for use by Lunar Laser Ranging experiments observing a laser's time-of-flight to measure the Moon's orbit more precisely than was possible before. In optics, corner reflectors typically consist of three mirrors or reflective prism faces which return an incident light beam in the opposite direction. In aircraft navigation, corner reflectors are installed on rural runways, to make them show up on aircraft radar.Īpollo 15 Lunar Laser Ranging RetroReflector (LRRR) installed on the Moon Marine radar uses X-band microwaves with wavelengths of 2.5–3.75 cm (1–1.5 inches), so small reflectors less than 30 cm (12 inches) across are used. Corner reflectors are placed on the vessel's masts at a height of at least 4.6 m (15 feet) above sea level (giving them an approximate minimum horizon distance of 8 kilometers or 4.5 nautical miles). In maritime navigation they are placed on bridge abutments, buoys, ships and, especially, lifeboats, to ensure that these show up strongly on ship radar screens. The reflecting surfaces must be larger than several wavelengths of the radio waves to function. To create a corner reflector that will reflect radar waves coming from any direction, 8 corner reflectors are placed back-to-back in an octahedron (diamond) shape. These reflect radio waves coming from in front of them back parallel to the incoming beam. A simple corner reflector consists of three conducting sheet metal or screen surfaces at 90° angles to each other, attached to one another at the edges, forming a "corner". This causes them to show a strong "return" on radar screens. Radar corner reflectors are designed to reflect the microwave radio waves emitted by radar sets back toward the radar antenna. Note: The diamond-shaped corner reflector on the yacht is improperly deployed to best reflect surface radar it should be deployed in the so-called "rain-catching" configuration so as to present an inside corner as shown on the "radar testing" image. ![]() The distance travelled, relative to a plane normal to the direction of the rays, is also equal for any ray entering the reflector, regardless of the location where it first reflects. Therefore, the ray direction goes from to to to, and it leaves the corner reflector with all three components of direction exactly reversed. Similarly, when reflected from side y and finally from side z, the b and c components are reversed. When the ray reflects from the first side, say x, the ray's x component, a, is reversed to − a while the y and z components are unchanged, resulting in a direction of. To see this, the three corresponding normal vectors of the corner's perpendicular sides can be considered to form a basis (a rectangular coordinate system) ( x, y, z) in which to represent the direction of an arbitrary incoming ray. The incoming ray is reflected three times, once by each surface, which results in a reversal of direction. 6/7/2023 0 Comments Medieval weapons list![]() Trebuchets were another important part of medieval weapons. But by the fifteenth century, they became really popular weapons close enough to guns. People often criticize crossbows claiming they are not honorable enough. Crossbows are very easy to use but they are not as accurate as normal bows. It uses a mechanical thing to draw back the crossbow so it can deliver the arrows with much more force than a normal bow. It is mostly similar to bows but it is just horizontal. Then suddenly it made a comeback in the 12th century when the ordinary soldiers started using it against well equipped and armored knights. However, being in existence for so long it is not present enough in history books. And in Europe, it was the gastraphetes of ancient Greece. The creation and usage of crossbows date back to the early 6th century in China. It has been around for a really long time. CrossbowsĬrossbows were very significant in medieval weapons. Naphtha was very popular in the medieval Middle Eastern Period. As in the case of Greek Fire using naphtha was advantageous to the people. It had almost similar ingredients except for the fact that it is of petroleum. So, it was problematic for naval ships to tackle that.Īnother, similar type of weapon was the naphtha. Moreover, its most important factor is that they can not extinguish it using water. But many people say that it was made using quicklime. ![]() It was such a secret weapon that people could not find out its procedure to make. Greek fire was a liquid substance and it fired through a flame thrower. It was a very much responsible factor for winning wars. Greek Fire was the secret weapon of the Byzantine Empire. However, the impact of iron tipped arrows is more than normal arrows. But these arrows would not travel as much as normal arrows. Iron tipped arrows are a special type of arrows that are with iron ingots. And at that time the Germans started attacking the Roman Empire using iron tipped arrows. In the early fifth century, bows and arrows started becoming important weapons in the wars. The history of battles in the Middle Ages involves the replacing of spears, swords, and other melee weapons. But the significance of swords will always be there as an invincible weapon. Then the importance of swords reduced because more weapons came into the picture. This was because the armor was very heavy and it was problematic to yield the swords. Until the 13th century when the blade becomes more narrow and sharper. It is not only appealing because of people’s fascination with death but also because of the wisdom, joy, and power a person feels with a sword in hand. Swords feature in mythology, cosmology, and most importantly history of regions across the globe, from Northern Europe to Africa, from India to East Asia. One needs to go through rigorous training to yield a sword. In the middle ages, knights, elites, and common soldiers used swords. Moreover, they have both a handle to hold and also a blade to attack with. One of the most important medieval weapons is sword. Battle axes generally weigh from 0.5 kg to 3 kg. Axes longer than that fall into the category of polearms. The height of battle axes varies from 1 foot to 5 feet. Battle axes of two types big ones and small ones.
